Palermo dance to the beat of the music popular in Mexico on Sunday September 28, 15 and 19 pm, when more than a hundred musicians will participate in the First Mariachi Festival in Buenos Aires.

Residents and tourists can enjoy, during four hours of this event jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture of Buenos Aires Government and the Mexican Embassy in Argentina, with the presence of a dozen of the best groups operating in the city, between them: The Toral, Los Camperos, Dominguez, Jorge Zarate and his Mariachi Monterrey, Azteca Gold, Real Azteca, Los Rosales and Veracruz.

The traditional music groups from Mexico not only manifest themselves artistically in this country, but has already spread throughout Latin America and many of them are made up of Argentines, Canadians and Peruvians, among other nationalities.

The instruments that are typically part of a Mariachi: guitars, guitarron, violins and trumpets.

In Mexico, it is customary to accompany this music at parties, celebrations, weddings, graduations and other special occasions, like the serenade Mother's Day (May 10) or the Virgin of Guadalupe (Dec. 12).

The Mariachi represents one of the icons of Mexican culture that has spread to other regions of the world and is identified as typical of that nation.
